Earlier this month (November), my husband Eric and I visited Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons in Wyoming. This was such a spectacular trip! We loved being outdoors in nature, even if it was a bit chilly. The views were truthfully unlike anything we have ever seen. We live in South Carolina so looking at snowcapped mountains, buffalo roaming around, and being able to layer up our winter clothes was a real treat. Below I am highlighting our favorite moments from the trip and sharing what to eat, what to do and where to stay! If you have any questions, I have saved a “Wyoming” highlight over on my Instagram page. I hope each one of you reading this has the opportunity to visit the beauty that is Wyoming one day.
We stayed in Teton Village, which overlooked the Tetons. The views couldn’t have been better. Imagine waking up each morning, grabbing your coffee and getting to catch a glimpse at the sun rising over the mountains. It was breathtaking! I would 100% recommend staying here – I’ve linked the exact cabin we stayed at. I’ve also saved the cabin tour I recorded over on my Wyoming highlight. We visited Wyoming in the winter months and this cabin was the perfect place to rest our heads after a long day. If you plan to travel during ski season (Dec-April), you’ll definitely want to book this place in advance! Get ready for all the cozy vibes!
Due to our visit being during off season, many restaurants were closed. We did find a few gems that remained open, were super tasty, and had a fun environment. They were:
Even though we technically went in the “off season,” it was amazing because there were no crowds. I actually recommend visiting during the off season because the parks were basically empty. We were mostly alone at all the popular spots. Our tour guide mentioned during the summer there are thousands of people waiting to see Old Faithful. When we visited, there were about 40 people! And let me just tell you, having an unobstructed view of that beauty was well worth going during a colder day.
We did Yellowstone in one day and then headed to Grand Teton the next day. I’ll be honest, next time I’d like to stay longer to soak up everything Yellowstone has to offer. You could easily spend a week just touring the national park! We definitely want to take the kids back during the spring months. When we visited Yellowstone, we downloaded this app and it was a huge help. I highly recommend checking it out!
While visiting Wyoming, I think it’s most important to just be present and don’t take the scenery and surrounding nature for granted. It truly is a beautiful state and we feel so lucky to have seen so many national parks in such a short trip. We cannot wait to get back out west to see more! Have you been to Wyoming before? Feel free to drop any must-see places, travel tips, or recommendations in the comments below! Plus, don’t forget to follow along on Instagram where I’ve shared even more photos and stories of our trip.

Allie,
My late husband and I went to Wyoming in 2016. It was a great trip. We went fishing at a little lake and the mountains and scenery were breathtaking. Thank you for sharing your trip.
