The fall season is the perfect time to embark on a family adventure! And that’s exactly what we did during the kid’s fall break this year. We ventured into the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, specifically Cherry Log, Georgia, for a getaway we’ll cherish forever.
Our accommodation was no ordinary cabin; instead we stayed in a magnificent treehouse that exceeded all expectations. From exploring picturesque orchards to antiquing in the charming town, our trip was filled with unforgettable experiences. If you’re planning a trip to this region, keep reading for the lowdown on where to stay and what to do.
Where To Stay
The highlight of our fall break was undoubtedly the remarkable treehouse we called home during our stay. Tucked away in Cherry Log, the treehouse offered a one-of-a-kind experience that combined nature, luxury, and attention to detail. As someone who appreciates decor, I was in awe of the tasteful design! You need to check out this place HERE.
The treehouse was equipped with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. In this case, it had a fully equipped kitchen, cozy bedrooms, and a spacious living area. The highlight, however, was the view from the tree canopy, which was nothing short of breathtaking. The large windows provided an amazing view of the surrounding nature, and the attention to detail in every corner of the treehouse was truly impressive.
One of the unexpected features was a sauna perched amidst the trees! It allowed us to fully relax and unwind while soaking up the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains. The treehouse’s location, overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, made it the perfect place to reconnect with nature and one another.
What To Do
Our adventure extended beyond our stunning treetop retreat. We explored the local attractions, enjoyed some fantastic outdoor activities, and immersed ourselves in the vibrant culture of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
BJ Reese Orchards: Our first stop was BJ Reese Orchards, where we experienced the joy of apple picking and seeing live animals. Hattie Mae was a fan of the pig! It was a great day bonding with the family and watching the kid’s reactions to fall-time experiences!
Downtown Ellijay: We spent an afternoon strolling through the charming streets of downtown Ellijay, which is known for its antique shops. It was, clearly, imperative that we pick up some souvenirs to remember our journey by! Although, Eric gave me a budget I had to stick to, otherwise I would’ve loaded up the entire car!
Downtown Blue Ridge: The neighboring town of Blue Ridge offered a different kind of charm. With boutique shops, galleries, and restaurants, it was the perfect place to soak in the local culture. We enjoyed walks and sampled different restaurants.
Our fall break in Cherry Log was one we won’t forget! Obviously, the kids didn’t want to leave the treehouse views! If you’re looking for a unique getaway that combines the beauty of nature with luxury accommodation, this is the place to be! Our trip was a wonderful blend of relaxation and adventure! We can’t speak highly enough of it! If you’re looking for a rejuvenating fall break getaway, Cherry Log is the perfect destination!
