All Your Laundry Room Questions Answered

When it comes to the rooms of our home, by far the most questions revolve around our laundry room! Earlier this summer we installed a brand new quartz countertop and after finally deciding on a rug, I figured it was time to answer all your burning questions!

I hope these answers will help provide some guidance if you are undergoing a laundry room project or at least provide some home renovation and building inspo! Let’s get to it!

What brick flooring did you use?

The brick we chose to use is from Brick Salvage. If you look into it, the brick name is Old Chicago and the mortar is white.

How is wear and tear? Cleaning? Sealing? All the details.

We’ve been in the house almost 4 years and it’s held up super well. Cleaning, such as vacuuming and sweeping, is easy. Mopping is a bit of a pain so I mainly spot clean with a scrub brush. I’ve linked the sealer used here and you can also see what it looks like below.

Is it a brick thin tile or a thicker brick?

It’s the face of queen old Chicago bricks.

Are the brick floors rough/hard to walk on if you’re barefoot?

They truthfully do not bother us at all.

How do you keep the mortar between the brick clean and stain free?

I think that depends on the sealer. If they are properly sealed you shouldn’t have an issue keeping them clean and looking new.

What’s your countertop surface and color?

The countertop is Torano quartz.

Where did you get that sink from?

Our laundry sink is the Kohler Gilford 30″ apron front wall mount. I’ve linked it for you here.

What is the color of your laundry room cabinets?

I’m going to try my best to answer this question as I squint at the Sherwin Williams label! I had them do a color match and the breakdown is:
