Sometimes Mother’s Day isn’t just about getting a gift, rather to actually spend some quality time with your mom! Let’s face it, life gets in the way, which sometimes makes it difficult to squeeze in that time with your mama. What better day to celebrate your love than Mother’s Day?! Here are some ideas on how to do so:
1. MAKE HER BREAKFAST (or any meal)
As a mother of three, any time I do not have to cook – I’m happy! Making a mom-themed, girly breakfast is not only a nice gesture but a good opportunity to spend some quality time with your mom. You can make it fun by trying out some new recipes! Baking bread together is always a plus, too! Here’s how to do it.
2. DO SOMETHING TOGETHER
The weather is finally getting nicer, so hit the outdoors and do a fun activity with your mom. One of my favorite ways to spend time with my mom is going for a walk or planting together. It gives us the opportunity to enjoy the weather, chat and get some exercise too!
Some fun activities could be walking, biking, golfing, hiking, waterfall chasing, etc. The list is endless!
3. GO SHOPPING
Who doesn’t love a good shopping fest? Shopping is the key to any good type of bonding. You could also turn this into an opportunity for your mom to pick out her own Mother’s Day gift. It takes the pressure off of finding a gift she will never use.
I found some amazing Amazon gifts below! I would be SO pleased if someone gifted me these items!
Nespresso Coffee and Espresso Machine | Lightweight Cordless Vacuum Cleaner | Luxury Bed Pillows | Towel Warmer (20% off) | 6 Piece Towel Set (40% off) | LEVOIT Humidifier | Nonstick Pots and Pans Set (40% off)
4. NICE GESTURE
What chore does your mom hate doing more than anything? Figure that out and do it for her. Whether it’s grocery shopping, washing the car, vacuuming the floors, doing the laundry or getting gas for her car. A small act of kindness and service is genuinely a nice way to show you care. Which chore can you take off her plate for the day?
5. BRING HER FLOWERS
I suppose flowers could be considered a gift, but there’s something just different and special about receiving flowers from someone. I’ve always thought it to be such a meaningful gesture. It’s a great time of year to get some beautiful arrangements. You can even pick some from your own garden, or visit a florist and arrange them together!
6. TAKE HER OUT FOR A MEAL
Whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or even brunch – take your mom out to a restaurant and spend quality time together. A fun way to mix it up is to do some research and pick a restaurant neither of you have been to before. No matter where you live, your hometown is bustling with great restaurants, you just have to do your research!
7. HIT THE SPA
Now that the weather is perking up, it’s a good time to start thinking about how our toes and nails look, seeing as sandal season is on the horizon! Now would be a good time to hit up your favorite spa or salon and get some mani/pedis with your mama.

8. TAKE A CLASS TOGETHER
Have you ever wanted to try a floral workshop or a hot yoga class? Do it! And take your mom. Whenever I want to do something that I’m too afraid to do alone, I ask my mom to go with me.
9. DO CRAFTS WITH THE KIDS (HER GRANDKIDS)
My mom loves nothing more than when my kids make her something or draw her a card. It’s the sentimental gifts that mean the most! If you, the kids, and your mom want to spend some quality time together, lay out some markers and paper and write cards for one another.
10. WATCH A MOVIE
Whether it’s going to the theater or curling up on the couch with the Netflix remote in hand, watching a movie is always a nice way to spend time with someone, especially if your mom likes to watch movies. Find a funny rom com and laugh it up together.
